I have mentioned before how much Thomas and Daniel love Thomas The Tank Engine and all his friends, so they were overjoyed when we asked to review Thomas & Friends Adventures Cranky At The Docks track set. The Thomas Track Set has the following features:
- Raise and lower Cranky’s crane arm, and spin him around 360 degrees
- Move the drawbridge up to let the cargo boat pass through
- Includes Thomas metal die-cast engine
- Connects with other Thomas & Friends Adventures playsets
- Suitable from 3 years+
- RRP: £34.99
We have had some of the Adventures trains for a little while now but this is our first ever Adventures play set. We have large amounts of wooden railway, Take & Play and Trackmaster sets so I was very interested to see what would be different on this set. My first impression was that it was in between the Trackmaster and the Take & Play ranges as it does not fold up like the Take & Play do but is a similar size, but is put together in a similar way to the Trackmaster tracks. I was very pleased to be able to built it up on my own without Stuart’s help and I was able to get the boys playing with it reasonably quickly.
Thomas and Daniel both loved playing with Cranky At The Docks. They enjoyed making Cranky spin around and lift up the barrel and they also liked lifting the drawbridge up and down to let the cargo boat pass through. Since building up this set they have not stopped playing with it. My only small criticism is that the Cranky At The Docks set is not as easy to put away as the Take & Play sets which fold up for easy storage. I think I am going to need to get another toy basket to put yet another type of train track in! Thomas and Daniel have played with it lots though so it is worth it and my living room has already been lost to trains already!
